First birthdays are such a milestone, you made it through the first few months of no sleep - only to get marginally more in the last few months. So now it’s time for you to celebrate! A lovely mother Shardey Olynyk (also a talented photographer who took these photos) asked me to illustrate a beautiful set of invitations to celebrate her daughter Aaliyah’s first birthday. Hand written calligraphy is such a lovely way to add the human touch to an invitation, I think it is this that makes us value hand painted invitations more and keep them forever in precious boxes under the bed.
