Why collectors choose original Australian landscape paintings

Landscape paintings have a unique ability to transform a room. Some collectors are drawn to dramatic coastlines that remind them of family holidays, while others choose quiet rural scenes that bring a sense of calm to everyday life. Whether you're styling a contemporary home, a country cottage or a relaxed coastal interior, an expressive Australian landscape painting adds colour, warmth and personality while creating a lasting connection to the places you love.
Every original painting is created by hand in my Queensland studio using professional-quality oil paints and carefully selected materials. Each piece is completely original, signed by me, includes an authenticity certificate and is thoughtfully packaged before making its journey to its new home.
As an Australian landscape artist, I’m endlessly inspired by the charm and character of our land. I’ve tried to bottle that feeling on canvas, so you can hang it somewhere you’ll see it every day

The Tradition of Australian Light

I've always felt a quiet kinship with the Heidelberg School, not because I paint like them, but because I share their fascination. There's something about Australian light, it's clear, bright and ever-changing, washing paddocks in gold one moment and casting cool blue shadows the next. It has challenged Australian landscape painters for generations, and it's a challenge I happily return to every time I pick up a brush. I find myself squinting into the sun, trying to translate Australia's fierce, shimmering light into something that feels like home on canvas, chasing the atmosphere, movement and warmth that make a place linger in your memory. These are paintings that celebrate not only the landscape itself, but the feeling of standing quietly within it.
Whether you're beginning your art collection or searching for a meaningful statement piece, my original Australian landscape paintings are created to be lived with, loved every day, and passed down for generations.

Meet the artist

Hello, I'm Rebecca Eddison, an Australian landscape artist and contemporary oil painter creating expressive landscape and still life paintings inspired by travel, treasured objects and the beauty hidden within everyday life. With a background in interior design and nearly two decades working across art and design, I’ve always believed the things we choose to surround ourselves with affect our moods in a very real way. Paintings are not just decor. They’re atmosphere. They’re comfort. They’re memory, made visible.

My paintings celebrate colour, light and the stories woven into familiar places. I'm endlessly collecting inspiration, whether it's an old piece of pottery from an antique shop, a weatherboard cottage, wildflowers gathered on a walk, or a winding country road discovered on holiday.

I create art as a gentle antidote to a fast-paced world. There's something deeply human about seeing the marks of another person's hand in a painting, the unexpected brushstrokes, the layered texture, the happy accidents that can never be perfectly repeated. I hope my work brings a sense of warmth, nostalgia and calm into your home, and that you find a painting you'll treasure for years to come.
